Beyond Gender: Breaking Stereotypes through Sport

About the project Beyond Gender challenges how gender stereotypes affect children’s participation in sports. Many parents, often without realizing it, steer their kids toward “boys’” or “girls’” activities. This project helps parents break those patterns, so every child can freely choose the sport they love.

The project combines research, training, and practical tools to support families and communities in Ukraine, Poland, and Sweden. Parents and other stakeholders will learn how to spot stereotypes, overcome them, and create a more inclusive sporting environment for children.

What we do

  • Carry out surveys with parents and children to understand how stereotypes shape sports choices.

  • Develop training programs and easy-to-use guides for parents.
