GreenVET: Greening Vocational Education and Training

About the project GreenVET aims to prepare a new generation of vocational education and training (VET) students for green jobs and a sustainable economy. The project focuses on integrating environmental education, sustainability principles, and digital tools into VET curricula. It supports teachers, trainers, and institutions in building the skills and knowledge needed for climate action, renewable energy, circular economy, and resource-efficient practices.

The project also strengthens cooperation between VET institutions, businesses, and public authorities to ensure training is aligned with labor market needs and regional development strategies. By creating modern, inclusive, and practice-oriented learning environments, GreenVET contributes to the European Green Deal, the Green Competence Framework (GreenComp), and the transition to a climate-neutral economy.

What we do

  • Develop a digital tool, EcoScan, to assess teachers’ environmental competencies and provide personalized recommendations for further learning.

  • Create the “Teaching for a Green Future” course to train teachers in environmental skills, digital tools, and green teaching methods.

  • Produce the GreenGuide, an interactive resource with practical steps, case studies, and digital materials for integrating sustainability into VET programs.

  • Set up Eco Hubs in VET institutions, equipped with digital tools for interactive learning, workshops, and collaboration with businesses and communities.

  • Support inclusive learning and equal access, ensuring opportunities for teachers and students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
